I've had at least 3 lives since 1964 - I've had the roles of wife, mom, grandmother (Nana).
I went through college as a Spanish major, only to change several years later to art and finally graduated in 1977 with a BA in Visual Art.
I've been a freelance graphic artist as well as for corporations. I've managed international and domestic corporate events/trade shows and created the branding for several corporations.
In 2003 I began my own agency, The Marketing Department, which provided full-service marketing. I closed it in 2009 after a major medical incident that made me want to enjoy life more and slow it down. I now have a sole proprietor business, Get Sizzle!, and primarily provide marketing consultation and writing services. It's so much less stressful, actually fun - and I'm still unwinding from my past hectic life.
I just got married on June 11, 2010 to a great guy. I have 7 fantastic grandchildren all in my area and 3 step grandchildren in Austin. I get to babysit a LOT!
I've made good choices and bad through these years. My life is nothing like I thought it would be back at FKHS. But, as I look back, I don't think I'd change that much because it's taught me - stubborn as I am - life lessons I wouldn't have learned otherwise. God has blessed me and protected me.
I'm glad to be where I am today and looking forward to many more years of adventure!
I loved growing up in Coffeyville. I was so proud of our town and our schools. Looking back, it was a very innocent time for me. I can't imagine growing up elsewhere. Here are a few memories:
-Mrs. Ballard who taught me a love of travel along with Spanish
-A great education foundation
-Riding my bike all over town
-The drive-in movies
-Cruising town with stops at the A&W
-Marching in the Drum Corps
-FK Kalvalkade
-So much more

Happy birthday, Sue! Hope your day was all you wished and this next year is full of happiness and health!
I just saw this and I'm sad to learn of her passing. Sounds like she lived a very good life and accomplished so much. We sat next to each other in Mrs. Pendleton's 9th grade Languages class and got in trouble for talking too much! She was a beautiful young girl and woman. She'll be missed.
Happy (upcoming) Birthday! Might as well start celebrating now!! Prayers for a healthy year ahead!
