William "Mike" Butler
76, Retired architect for Learjet/Bombardier and McConnell AFB, died Friday, February 17, 2023.
Mike will be inurned at the family plot in Coffeyville, KS. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Preceded in death by his father, George William Butler. Survived by his wife, Doris Butler, MD; daughters, Kirsten Butler, Karen (Chadd) Butler-Clary, Erica (Tom) Butler-Chothia; son, Derek Butler; mother, Maxine Butler; grandchildren, Eli and Emery Clary, Zoey Chothia; sister, Linda (Jeff) Eaton; brothers, Robert (Carol) Butler, Chris Butler.
Memorials have been established with: Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Ste. 800, Miami, FL 33131; Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

Sorry to hear about another classmate. We are dwindling. I enjoyed remembering my times with Mike. Lost track of so many of our classmates. Prayers for the family

I am sure I posted a memory when Mike passed. However, I have great memories of Mike as we grew up. My strongest memory is being in the "danger zone" with him as we rode in his Ford convertible with the stick on the floor. I think he and his Dad did this conversion. Any way, we drove down the road just over 100mph with no words from his friends. We made it, spent the day at State Lake and then back to Coffeyville. At that time there a small bridge across the road and during our trip to the lake. Yep 100mph on the way back I asked to go a little slower and he did since it was raining. He drove at 80mph and up ahead the bridge. We spun out a couple of times, went into the ditch filled with water and then we stooped with the rear bumper touching the bridge. This is where you make up the rest. God bless you my loyal friend and I hope your family is well. We all miss you greatly.
